If your concrete in Hicksville, OH  is sinking, uneven, or creating trip hazards, you don’t need to tear it out and start over. In most cases, the concrete itself isn’t the problem.
The real issue is usually what’s happening underneath the slab. Soil around Auburn can settle over time. Heavy rain and drainage issues can wash supporting material away. Voids form beneath the concrete, and when that support is lost, the slab begins to sink, tilt, or crack.
That’s why replacing concrete without fixing the soil often leads to the same problem all over again. Many homeowners and property managers in Auburn put this off for years because they assume replacement is the only option.
Concrete replacement is expensive, messy, and disruptive. It can take days or even weeks — and it still doesn’t address the underlying soil issues that caused the slab to settle in the first place.
There’s a way to fix the problem below the surface — without tearing anything out.
Restoration Concrete LLC specializes in mudjacking (also known as slabjacking), a proven method that lifts and supports sunken concrete by pumping a cement-based slurry beneath the slab. This material fills voids, restores support, and raises the concrete back toward its original position.
We lift driveways, sidewalks, patios, garage floors, and commercial slabs throughout Hicksville — without tear-out and without long downtime.
Most projects are completed in a short timeframe, and once the material has properly set, the surface can be put back into service without the long delays that come with concrete replacement.
A Smarter Way to Fix Sinking Concrete
Concrete replacement is expensive, messy, and disruptive. Our process lifts the concrete you already have — saving time, money, and hassle.
With mudjacking (slabjacking), you get:
- A faster repair with minimal disruption compared to replacement
- Small drill holes and a clean, professional finish
- Solid, cement-based support restored beneath the slab
- A solution that costs up to 50% less than full concrete replacement
Whether it’s a driveway pulling away from your garage, a sidewalk creating a trip hazard, or a warehouse floor that’s settled unevenly, our concrete repair focuses on fixing the cause — not just the surface.

Concrete Leveling FAQs in Hicksville, OH
How It Works
How does mudjacking concrete leveling work?
Concrete leveling works by pumping a cement-based slurry beneath a sinking slab. This material flows into empty spaces under the concrete, fills voids, and restores lost support. As the material is injected, it gently raises the slab back toward its proper position.
This method—commonly called mudjacking or slabjacking—fixes the problem without removing the concrete, making it a practical alternative to full replacement. You can learn more about the step-by-step approach on our
Concrete Leveling Process page.
Why does concrete settle or sink over time?
Concrete usually sinks because the soil underneath it changes. Water washout, poor drainage, freeze–thaw cycles, and loose soil can all create voids beneath a slab. When the support is lost, the concrete settles and becomes uneven.
What material is used to lift and support concrete?
We use a cement-based slurry specifically designed for mudjacking. This material flows beneath the slab to fill voids, restore lost support, and create a solid, load-bearing base capable of supporting driveways, sidewalks, garage floors, and commercial slabs.
Is foam leveling different from mudjacking?
Yes. Mudjacking and foam leveling use different materials and lifting methods. Mudjacking relies on a cement-based slurry that fills voids beneath the slab and restores support through mass and stability.
Foam leveling uses expanding materials to lift the slab through expansion rather than mass. Each method has different applications and considerations. A full breakdown is available on our Poly Leveling vs. Mudjacking page.
Concrete Surfaces We Repair
What types of concrete surfaces do you repair in Hicksville, OH
We repair and lift a wide range of concrete surfaces in Hicksville, including driveways, sidewalks, walkways, patios, porches, steps, garage floors, concrete floors, pool decks, and larger slabs on residential and commercial properties. If the concrete is structurally sound but has settled or become uneven, it can often be lifted instead of replaced.
Can you lift both residential and commercial concrete in Hicksville, OH
Yes. We provide concrete leveling and lifting for homeowners, businesses, HOAs, and municipalities throughout Hicksville. Whether it’s a trip hazard on a sidewalk or uneven commercial flooring, we restore stability without full replacement.
Can decorative or stamped concrete be lifted safely?
Yes. Decorative and stamped concrete can often be lifted with mudjacking if the slab is structurally sound. The process focuses on restoring support beneath the concrete, allowing the slab to be raised carefully without replacing it.
Is concrete leveling possible inside garages or buildings?
Yes. Interior slabs such as garage floors and interior concrete floors are commonly leveled, depending on access and slab condition.
What if there is empty space under my concrete?
Empty space, or a void, is a common cause of settlement. In these cases, void filling may be used to restore support before further sinking occurs. Learn more on our Void Filling page.
Pricing, Estimates & Warranty
Is concrete leveling an affordable option?
Yes. Concrete leveling is typically far more affordable than full concrete replacement because it avoids demolition, hauling, and long cure times. In many cases, lifting the concrete can cost about half as much as replacement, while still addressing the underlying support issue.
What happens during a concrete leveling estimate?
An estimate includes evaluating the slab, identifying why it’s sinking, and explaining whether leveling is the right fix. We focus on clear answers—not pressure. You can request a free estimate on our Contact page.
Do you offer a warranty on concrete leveling?
Yes. Our concrete leveling work is backed by a 5-Year Warranty, giving you confidence in the durability of the repair.
Leveling vs. Replacement
When is concrete leveling a better choice than replacement?
If the concrete slab is intact, leveling is often the better option. It fixes the cause of settlement, costs less, and avoids the disruption of replacement. Replacement is usually only necessary when concrete is severely damaged.
How much can I save with concrete leveling vs. replacement?
Concrete leveling can cost half as much as replacing the slab. Since there’s no demolition, hauling, or long cure time, you also avoid the extra mess, downtime, and disruption that comes with tearing concrete out and starting over.
When is concrete replacement the better option?
Replacement may be recommended if the concrete is badly cracked, crumbling, or broken into multiple pieces. If the slab is still in one piece but uneven, leveling is usually the better first step.
How do I know if I need concrete repair or concrete replacement?
You usually don’t need full replacement if the concrete is still in one piece but has sunk, shifted, or become uneven. Issues like trip hazards, pooling water, or sunken slabs are often caused by soil problems underneath and can be fixed with concrete leveling or repair.
When in doubt, a quick inspection can tell whether the concrete can be repaired—or if replacement is truly necessary.
Timeline & What to Expect
How long does a typical concrete leveling job take?
Most concrete lifting projects are completed in just a few hours. The exact time depends on slab size and how much settlement has occurred.
When can the concrete be used again?
Concrete lifted with mudjacking can be ready for use immediately after the material has properly set. Most projects are completed quickly, allowing normal foot traffic—and often vehicle traffic—to resume the same day without long wait times.
Will the repair be noticeable afterward?
Small access holes are drilled and patched after lifting. While they may be visible up close, they are far less noticeable than the cracks, seams, and disruption caused by full concrete replacement.
Is concrete leveling messy or disruptive?
No. Concrete leveling is a clean, non-invasive process. There is no tear-out, no heavy demolition, and minimal impact on surrounding landscaping.
Does leveled concrete need ongoing maintenance?
Normal concrete maintenance applies, such as managing drainage and sealing joints when needed. Keeping water away from the slab helps prevent future settlement. Mudjacking provides long-term support by filling voids beneath the concrete and restoring a stable base, which helps the slab remain supported for years when proper drainage is maintained.
Safety, Materials & Long-Term Results
Is mudjacking safe for my property?
Yes. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry made from natural materials that, once set, forms a solid, stable support beneath the concrete. It does not leach into the surrounding soil and is designed to provide long-lasting support under the slab.
Because mudjacking lifts the concrete you already have, it also reduces unnecessary concrete removal and replacement, helping minimize mess, disruption, and material waste.
Why does experience matter when choosing a concrete leveling company?
An experienced contractor understands soil conditions, controlled lifting techniques, and proper material placement. This ensures the slab is lifted evenly and stabilized correctly for long-term performance.
Can concrete sink again after it’s been lifted?
Concrete can settle again if underlying drainage or soil issues are not addressed. That’s why our focus is on proper concrete stabilization, not just lifting the slab temporarily.
